World Sports Betting Western Province Women bowler Nosipho Vezi has acknowledged that anything can happen this weekend but the Girls In Blue are hopeful that the results will be in their favour.
Head coach Claire Terblanche will lead her team to Bloemfontein to face the Free State Knights in their upcoming Hollywoodbets Pro50 and Pro20 matches, which are sure to bring the heat.
Vezi believes the team has what it takes to secure a double victory over the Knights having faces the Free State-based side at the beginning of the season.
“The team is looking good, we’ve had some good reflections from last weekend’s game and we’ve had hard conversations about improving our performances,” said Vezi.
“The energy in the camp is high since we know our goal is clear: everyone needs to give 110% in every game we play.”
Vezi says the team has had a strong week of training in preparing for the weekend against the Knights.
“We’ve had those hard conversations and identified the areas that we still need to work on. We are working on improving areas such as our angles on the field,” she said.
“Anything can happen this weekend, but we hope the results will be in our favour.”
Reflecting on the round one clash between the two and looking ahead to the challenges, Vezi acknowledges that the match will not be easy.
“Yes, we did beat them at Newlands, however, we are expecting a tough challenge over there, as they’ll come at us hard, especially playing on their home ground,” added Vezi.
“But that will not stop our momentum or deter us from achieving what we set our minds to – when given a chance.”
The match will be live streamed on the Cricket South Africa YouTube page.
