As Investec Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup competitions continue with this weekend's quarter-finals and following a record-breaking 2023/24 pool stage, EPCR and LegendaryPlays have announced a collaboration to showcase the rich 30-year history of the world’s top international club rugby tournament.

Fans of international club rugby will be able to experience rugby like never before by collecting, showcasing and engaging with their favourite moments through a new and innovative partnership with the fan engagement platform.

EPCR’s Investec Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup join the United Rugby Championship and TOP 14, as well as the LNR’s PRO D2, as part of LegendaryPlays’ digital video collectibles and NFT portfolio.

The partnership will offer the tournaments’ global fanbases the opportunity to build and trade officially-licensed digital video moments and to access real-life money-can't-buy experiences.

EPCR’s CEO Jacques Raynaud said: "We are hugely excited to bring further innovation into EPCR’s competitions through this partnership with LegendaryPlays, delivering our first-ever digital collections.

"We want to continue generating new and innovative opportunities for fans of the Investec Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup around the world to engage with our competitions through owning the best moments.

"Through working with LegendaryPlays, we will be able to broaden the appeal of our competitions to a global, digital fanbase with a partner who is a leader in this space, already working with two of our three leagues."

"We're proud to announce a strategic partnership with European Professional Club Rugby, introducing EPCR Video Collectibles on LegendaryPlays. This move not only expands our reach into new markets like England but also leverages blockchain to offer fans unique ownership of international club rugby moments. More than a collaboration, this partnership blends digital innovation with physical experiences, enhancing fan engagement," said Philippe Février, CEO & Founder of LegendaryPlays.

Partnering with LegendaryPlays also supports EPCR’s commitments that form the impACT sustainability strategy, with LegendaryPlays contributing to positive social impact by donating 2.5% of generated sales to support social or environmental projects.

A Play is a digital collectible in limited editions, that fans can collect, play and trade. Due to the intended scarcity, each digital souvenir is available in different supply and includes digital art, a unique rugby moment, whose ownership is certified by blockchain technology.

Plays owners are invited to build their own legendary XV to unlock exclusive memorabilia and exceptional experiences.

The first drop of EPCR’s digital collectibles celebrating 30 years of this incredible tournament will launch ahead of the Investec Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup Finals and is not to be missed.
