With over 100 submissions from broadcasters around the globe, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the winners of the 2024 Olympic Golden Rings Awards on Tuesday night.
The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Olympic Media Rights-Holders (MRHs) in delivering the magic of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, which were watched by over half of the world’s population.
The ceremony recognised 10 MRHs with awards across 12 categories, reflecting innovation, creativity and excellence in Olympic broadcasting.
NBCUniversal, the MRH in the United States, the host country of the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028, won three awards in the Best Digital Offer (Web and App), Best Director and Best Social Media Campaign categories.
France Télévisions was awarded the “Best Athlete profile award”, as well as Special Recognition by the jury for the role played in promoting the Olympic Games Paris 2024 in its home country.
Other MRH awardees include the BBC, CBC/Radio-Canada, CMG Group, Globo, Livemode, Nine Australia, Sky NZ and Warner Bros. Discovery.
IOC President Thomas Bach, who was present at the ceremony at Olympic House in Lausanne today, praised the invaluable role of MRHs in connecting the world through sport and sharing the inspiring stories of Olympic athletes.
“The Olympic Games Paris 2024 were a testament to the unifying power of sport,” he said. “Through the incredible work of our Media Rights-Holders, billions of people experienced the athletes’ stories and the cultural vibrancy of Paris, showcasing the Olympic values and the joy of sport to the world.”
Anant Singh, IOC Member, chair of the jury and an Oscar-nominated producer, said: “On behalf of the jury, I would like to congratulate all the nominees of the Golden Rings Awards. The magic of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 has inspired people around the world, thanks to the tireless efforts of our media rights-holding partners and their creative teams. Tonight’s awards celebrate their commitment and dedication to the excellence of delivering a world-class product to global viewers. Thanks to the jury for their insights and in reviewing the highest number of submissions – over 100 this year.”
Yiannis Exarchos, CEO of Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS), also highlighted the exceptional work of the MRHs in sharing the Olympic Games Paris 2024 with the world, with the winners representing the best of Olympic storytelling and innovation.
“The Golden Rings Awards celebrate the exceptional creativity and dedication of Media Rights-Holders,” he said. “Through their innovation and storytelling, they not only showcase the extraordinary achievements of the athletes but also deepen the connection between the Games and the viewers, inspiring billions with the Olympic spirit.”
The ceremony featured a special performance by MTB trial world champion Nicolas Fleury, who delivered a trophy on his bike, dazzling attendees with a gravity-defying display of tricks, while renowned composer Victor Le Masne, whose compositions for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony captivated global audiences, also reflected on his experience creating the music that set the tone for the Games.

Most comprehensive Games coverage ever
As the host broadcaster for the Olympic Games, OBS produced a record 11 000 hours of content for Paris 2024, surpassing any previous Games and enabling MRHs to deliver comprehensive coverage across all platforms.
As a result, global audiences experienced unprecedented access to the Games, with traditional TV and digital streaming providing deeper and more interactive engagement than ever before.
