Round 4 – Key Stats

  • Damian Penaud (Union Bordeaux-Bègles) scored six tries at the weekend. He is now one try away from equalling Chris Ashton’s record for tries in a Champions Cup season.

  • Ange Cappuozzo (Stade Toulousain) made more metres than any other player in Round 4 (181), beat 10 defenders (second) and scored two tries.

  • Tom Curry (Sale Sharks) made more dominant tackles than any other player at the weekend (four). He also won a turnover and made a clean break.

  • Jack Willis (Stade Toulousain) won six turnovers in Round 4 – more than any other player has won in a match in the last five seasons of Champions Cup rugby.

  • Tom Seabrook (Northampton Saints) scored three tries at the weekend and made 100 metres.

  • In total, 105 tries and 731 points were scored over all Investec Champions Cup Round 4 matches.

  • The quickest try came from Bath Rugby’s Alfie Barbeary away against Leinster Rugby 1 minute into the game.
