Round 3 – Key Stats

  • Damian Penaud (Union Bordeaux Bègles) scored a hat-trick at the weekend. He also made a round-high 180 metres, four clean breaks, and assisted two more tries.

  • Josh Bassett (Leicester Tigers) scored as many tries (three) and made as many clean breaks (five) as any other player in Round 3. He also assisted a try.

  • Peceli Yato (ASM Clermont Auvergne) made more dominant collisions than any other player at the weekend (seven), scored a try, and won two turnovers.

  • Jack Nowell (Stade Rochelais) beat the joint-most defenders in Round 3 (10). He also made 30 post-contact metres (second) and four offloads (second).

  • Caelan Doris (Leinster Rugby) made a round-high 29 tackles and was one of two players who won four turnovers at the weekend.

  • In total, 88 tries and 627 points were scored over all Investec Champions Cup Round 3 matches.

  • The quickest try came from RC Toulon’s Gianmarco Lucchesi in their home match against Harlequins at 1 minute 44 seconds into the game. The second fastest try came from Tom de Glanville (Bath Rugby) at 1 minute 46 seconds into their game against ASM Clermont Auvergne.
